St Fin Barres-Beyond 2000
The Aim of St Fin Barre's Beyond 2000 is: ·To provide a Heritage Centre which will attract visitors and tourists to Cork in large numbers annually. ·To build and equip the Centre to tell the story Cork Begins Here. ·To open the Cathedral for community and cultural use. ·To equip local people, residents of the city and county, with an attractive overview of what Cork is and was, and what they are entitled to own as their own.
St Fin Barre's Beyond 2000 aims to provide Cork with a purpose-built centre to tell the story: Cork Begins Here. It will do so on the 2.5 acre site where St Fin Barres Cathedral stands and where Cork began. The project is for the whole of Cork and is of local, national and international significance. We seek your support. Its vision will be realised through your financial giving and generosity.
The cost is £5,000,000 and to date £1,500,000 has been contributed by individual donations, corporate pledges and grants form local and national governments. Substantial restoration work has been completed in the Cathedral itself and the focus is now firmly on the centre and the telling of the Story of Cork.
We invite you to find out more by visiting our website and contributing to Cork's most exciting millennial project.
